I opened Salon on the Square nearly four years ago and in that time our team has seen beautiful makeovers every day. So – we decided it was time to give our salon a makeover of its own.
While we have a diverse clientele, each client expects the same thing from our salon – great service in a pampering environment. However, the physical space didn’t necessarily reflect the great experience our clients have come to love and expect.
Our first phase included removing mirrors, shelving and Formica countertops and repainting the entire salon. Since the goal was to reflect a more serene and authentic feel, our next phase included removing the low drop ceilings to expose beautiful wooden beams.
When you’re dealing with hair color, proper lighting is a must. So it was out with the fluorescent lighting and in with new lighting. We also created more natural light by simply exposing a window that had been covered.
The end result? Judging from the reaction of clients, our makeover has been a great success. People specifically comment on the natural light and say the beams remind them of a New York loft.
It has been a true work in progress. The renovations began in mid-November so the salon’s transformation has been gradual. Clients enjoyed watching the changes unfold and they gave us lots of great input so we incorporated many of their ideas.
If you haven’t been to Salon on the Square lately, stop by and check out our makeover. We’ll also be happy to give you one of your own.
